Brad Pitt to Remake "Bullitt"?

If he does, he better hire a good action director. The original "Bullitt" has one of the best car chases ever.

According to sources, Brad Pitt has wanted to remake Peter Yates‘ "Bullitt" (1968) for a while now — and cast himself in the Steve McQueen role. Apparently the project might hit the fast track in anticipation of next year’s potential SAG strike, but I wouldn’t start holding my breath just yet.

The movie’s about a detective who hunts down a cop-killing assassin. And yes, that car chase is still one of the best I’ve ever seen.

No more details are available just yet, but if Pitt makes this his next project, it’ll probably start moving pretty soon.
