It’s the film audiences around the world have been curious about: Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, snatched from the jaws of disaster after one of its leading actors, Heath Ledger, passed away while shooting was still underway. The film is dedicated to Ledger, and is his final performance. Ledger was famously replaced by Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law for the “imaginarium” sequences in the film, a fantasy about a centuries-old duel between Doctor Parnassus (Christopher Plummer) and the devilish Mr. Nick (Tom Waits).
Well, the wait’s almost over. And if you’re quick, you can be among the first in the country to see the film and — what’s more — chat live to the always entertaining (and outspoken) director Terry Gilliam, who’ll participate in a Q&A via phone afterwards. It’s all happening next Monday, October 26 at Popcorn Taxi, so be fast. Tickets are available here.
The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus opens nationwide on October 29.
