NETFLIX ANNOUNCES NEW TALK SHOW WITH BILL NYE

Netflix has announced that it will launch a new talk show, Bill Nye Saves the World, hosted by the famed scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor. Set to launch Spring 2017, each episode will tackle a topic from a scientific point of view, dispelling myths, and refuting anti-scientific claims that may be espoused by politicians, religious leaders, or titans of industry. Bill Nye Saves the World will mark Nye’s long-awaited return to TV since first emerging as a household name in the 1990s as the creator and star of the Emmy award-winning television show Bill Nye the Science Guy.


A TV ADAPTATION OF LET THE RIGHT ONE IN IS IN THE WORKS

A new pilot based on the Swedish novel Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist has been ordered by TNT. The book is a sort of coming-of-age vampire horror romance, which also inspired the Swedish film of the same name and the American version Let Me In. The adaptation is being developed by Jeff Davis, creator of Teen Wolf, and Criminal Minds.


JIM BROADBENT JOINS GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7

Oscar winner Jim Broadbent will be joining the seventh season of Game of Thrones. HBO is keeping quiet about the specifics of the role, stating only that it will be “significant.” Season seven will be a shorter 7-episode mini season, that will precede the 8th and final season of the fantasy hit.


STRANGER THINGS IS RETURNING IN 2017

Finally, the news we have all been waiting for… Netflix has announced there will indeed be a second season of Stranger Things. The 1980s-set show became a breakout success for the streaming giant this summer, winning admiration from fans and critics alike. Penned by twin brothers Matt and Ross Duffer, the show’s next season will be 9 episodes long and air in 2017.  Details are few, but the renewal announcement video revealed some very intriguing episode titles.
