Writer-director Greta Gerwig’s follow-up to Lady Bird already garnered serious Oscar buzz ahead of its release in theaters this Christmas – which should come as no surprise. The cast is stacked with a who’s-who of young talent (Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Eliza Scanlen, Timothée Chalamet), some beloved veterans (Meryl Streep, Laura Dern), and Oscar-nominated Gerwig is at the helm. Ahead of the movie’s opening, Rotten Tomatoes editor Jacqueline Coley sat down with Gerwig, Chalamet, Ronan, Pugh, Dern, and Scanlen to dive into how they all collaborated to make the 19th-century novel startlingly relevant today, the ins-and-outs of an epic-sounding fight scene, and to decide whether Laurie is a true romantic or the kind of guy that would ghost you on Tinder.
