Best (And Worst) Horror Movies of 2019

It’s been a strong decade for horror films — how will 2019 close out the 2010s? To keep track of all the thrills, chills, and blood spills, we’ve collected all the notable entries of the first half of the year for our list of the best horror movies of 2019 so far (along with the worst). It’s a guide that includes new classics (Us), remakes (Pet Sematary, Child’s Play), sequels (Happy Death Day 2U), and –because they just can’t stay in their lane – superhero inversions (Brightburn). Meanwhile, we’re highlighting indie fare like The Wind and I Trapped The Devil. To qualify for this list, the horror movie simply had to have at least 20 reviews — whether it was a theatrical or streaming release was not a factor.

With IT: Chapter Two now out and the cinemaworld prepping for another Stephen King adaptation — Shining sequel Doctor Sleep — in November, take a deep, dark look back with the best horror movies of 2019! And check back often as we add new ones as they come out!
