The 56 Best Amazon Prime TV Shows

Updated October 20, 2020

Looking for the best TV shows on Amazon Prime? We’ve got your covered with our guide to the best Amazon Prime Video original series and shows.

While The Boys commanded our attention in 2019 and the series has jumped higher on our list with its season 2 release. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel kicked up a TV awards storm the year before. These comedies were not the first of Amazon Prime Video’s original shows to garner critical and award attention. That honor goes to the groundbreaking Transparent, which ended in 2019 after four seasons and a musical finale.

The internet giant got into the original content business in 2013, when it began with a fan-voted “pilot season.” Users were able to watch TV pilots and give feedback to the powers that be, and the highest-rated pilots would be turned into Amazon Prime Video series. That process yielded both hits (Bosch, renewed for a seventh, and final, season) and misses (Betas, canceled after one season).

The company ended that process in 2018, but each year continues to release a variety of comedies, dramas, international co-productions, and acquisitions, including its pickup of fan-favorite space drama The Expanse, which debuted original episodes on Amazon with its fourth season in fall 2019 and is set to release season 5 this December.

Competition reality series World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji hosted by Bear Grylls is the latest title to join our list, which also includes some of the above-mentioned titles and Fleabag, Hanna, Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, The Man in the High Castle, Homecoming, Good Omens, Mozart in the Jungle, and more.

For this guide, we set out to list Amazon Prime’s best TV shows to binge-watch, now from all of those titles the service has released since 2013. Below, find more than 50 titles that made the cut. To be included in our list of the best Amazon series, titles must be Fresh (60% or higher).

Keep this page bookmarked, as we will be updating our best Amazon Prime shows list as more series debut and more scores come in. And if you’re in the mood for a movie, check out our guide to the Best Movies on Amazon Prime.
